Completed in September, 1980 after more than two years of construction, Louise M. Davies Symphony Hall is the home of the San Francisco Symphony. More than six thousand individuals, foundations, and corporations donated the money needed to build the Hall. The City of San Francisco donated the land and the State and Federal governments gave a total of $10 million toward the $28 million project. The San Francisco Symphony's home owes its name to the efforts and perseverance of Mrs. Louise M. Davies, the largest individual contributor to the building.

War Memorial Opera House

The Fillmore

The Fillmore has once again become a San Francisco hot spot with frequent shows. For a standard show, the capacity of the Fillmore is 1,199 guests. The Fillmore is also well known for its psychedelic concert posters which are given to fans free of charge as they exit selected, sold-out shows. A chronological collection of these posters is on display in the mezzanine level of the auditorium today.

Café du Nord and the Swedish American Hall

Café Du Nord is a nightclub, restaurant and live music venue located in the landmark Swedish-American building in the Upper Market district of San Francisco.  Although the Du Nord is known for the quality of the national music acts it showcases, the club retains the ambiance of a classic lounge.  Details throughout the club hearken back to its past life as a notorious speakeasy during Prohibition.

The Swedish American Hall is operated by Café Du Nord as a live music and entertainment venue.  Located above the Du Nord in the same building, the Swedish American Hall was built in 1907 by Swedish craftsmen.  Its centerpiece is a spectacular grand ballroom that is full of warm woods and old country charm.

Slim's is a live music nightclub dedicated to providing the public with excellent service, a congenial atmosphere, good food & drinks, and the finest of American Roots Music--Blues, R&B, Cajun/Zydeco, Jazz, Alternative, and more. The premises consist mainly of an open floor on our main level. At one end of the floor is our performance stage. At the other end we have a small balcony with table seating for 70 where guests may sit and relax. Our bar runs the length of the floor in an "L" shape. The decor is simple and tasteful, with chandeliers, brick walls, and a bar inspired by the facades of several New Orleans manors.
